Pump Up the Volume in Your Low Carb Diet
Feel full faster on a Low Carb Diet

If you don't burn off what you put in your mouth, you'll wear it on your hips, stomach and waistline, according to the newly revised Dietary Guidelines for Americans. You don't need a magic ball to know that most Americans consume more carbs and calories than needed, while still failing to meet a balanced nutritional diet.

But you can satisfy your hunger without overdosing on carbs or calories if you follow these simple steps to pump up the volume in your low carb diet:

  • 1. Eat a small serving of soup, try my Tomato and Pumpkin Soup or my Spicy Gazpacho preferably a chunky type soup, but without the potatoes or pasta, before lunch or dinner. The volume alone activates the stretch receptors in your stomach to start signalling your brain that you're getting enough food.
  • 2. Salad is another great way to do the same thing. A 100 calorie small salad ( which is a 3 cup portion of veggies no less!) reduces your brain's need to fill your stomach up with more food, which results in more calories eaten at a meal than necessary. Try this great, easy recipes: Double Mustard Chicken and Arugula Salad

Flavor and fill up with lean protein, such as turkey, seafood or tofu and you'll get the hormone glucagon elevated for hours and that means a faster metabolism!
